The Roll Back Community Day
On December 15th 2007, the Rollback team hosted ‘Strike 1one’ our very first family fun day. We thought it would be a good idea to bridge the generation gap, by bringing people of all ages and physical capabilities together for one big day of roller skating enjoyment. The theme of the day was ‘each child must bring an adult’, which meant that we had many mums and dads flat on their faces while their children rolled about with laughter,
but rest assured our qualified coaches were there to lend a helping hand. As well as a whole day of unadulterated skating exhilaration, we also had some amazing demonstrations from some of our zaniest roller sport supporters: F.A.R.S, the B.R.S.F and The Roller Darby Girls kept us all mesmerised with their breath taking displays. Most importantly we managed to raise over £200 for the Cancer Awareness and the Sickle cell Trust, two charities which are particularly important to the Rollback family.
All in all we had a wonderful day full of fun, fundraising and festivities. We will be hosting another community day in the near future. We hope to see you there.
Big thanks to:
Madame Mayor- Jean Lammiman,
Dave Nichols -President of the BRSF (British Roller Sport Federation),
